Genre Rock
Length 2:13

Take Your Love is a song by TISM. The original version had someone swearing in a foreign language as the backing track, while the Gentlemen, Start Your Egos version has radio chatter with religious and sexual themes as the backing track. The swearing in the original version is the (backmasked) Springvale 1985 mix of The Art/Income Dialectic at various speeds.

The version on Gentlemen Start Your Egos is the original bedroom tape version of the track. It was recorded in 1985 and is preferred by TISM. An alternate version of that version with the radio loops cut up differently is one of the two hidden tracks on the Collected Recordings 1986-1993 version of Gentlemen, Start Your Egos.

Gentlemen, Start Your Egos version[edit]

WOMAN: ...bit of a problem..um, it doesn't concern me directly but it concerns my brother and sister, who in the past few months have become very very very close, if you know what I mean?..um..?

MAN 1: You mean sexually, or...?

WOMAN: Yeah, sexually.

MAN 2: ...Bulgarians, Jews, Poles, Russians, French. Survive due to....{unintelligible}

Take your love, boil it in a pot
Scrape the sides from bottom to top
Wrap the rest in the Age, tie it in a knot
Bury it deep in the ground and forget the lot.

WOMAN: Yes father, you've given me a bit of hope tonight, father...

MAN 1: I've written on this, on a letter for my local church...

MAN 2: You've written a letter to your local church?

MAN 1: Yeah, well this one has just given me...

MAN 2: Yep, right, good.

MAN 1: So I've just...

MAN 2: Well good on you. I hope you overcome your problem, Frank, and come to terms with it.

FRANK: Thank you.

WOMAN: Yes father, you've given me a bit of hope tonight, father...

Wait twenty years
In secret hope
Nothing ever grows

WOMAN: ...you've given me a bit of hope tonight, father...

Dangle on a rope.

WOMAN: ...you've given me a bit of hope tonight, father...
